Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Victoria Sieczka is part bass player, part artist with a passion for creating. Spending her childhood days drawing on a Japanese anime Oekaki board, this playful pop nature has been carried through to our collab collection mindfully made from recycled fibres. We caught up with Victoria to chat about the collab and what life looks like in Vancouver.

This is your first capsule with us! Talk us through the inspiration behind your capsule ?

It’s really exciting to see my artwork translated onto clothing. I wanted to bring in my love of nature, landscapes and digital mediums. I wanted to showcase the beautiful colours of the sunset skies and incorporate playful elements while still keeping things playful and cool.

What is your favourite piece from the collection?

My favourite piece is definitely the cropped tank. It’s so cute, looks amazing on and is super soft.

Where inspires your artwork?

I draw a lot of my inspiration from my surroundings, my friends and my relationships. Emotions are a really big inspiration for me and I love to put what I’m feeling that day into an illustration.

Talk us through your creative process - where does it start?

I usually listen to music or get deeply invested in a bizarre topic due to my ADHD. I fixated on that and try to turn it into a picture. Inspiration usually strikes out of nowhere.

Where can we find you when you're not making art?

I love to play bass. Music is a huge part of my life. I am a big fashion nut as well so I love to shop and thrift. I’m always absorbing new information and learning, especially about myself and from others. I also love to play with my newly adopted cat, baby.

We hear you're from Canada, What does a day in your life look like?

I am, but my parents are originally from Ukraine and Poland. When they were looking to move they originally had planned to go to Australia but got an offer to move to Canada second! I was so close to warmer weather.

My typical day entails waking up super early, and indulging in some of British Columbia’s finest assortment of hemp based products. I like to draw or paint throughout the day while listening to or taking breaks to play music. I’m in a band called FRANKIIE. My only “coworkers” are my bandmates so I see them once or twice a week. I like to relax by watching tv, movies or reading books.

What's in store for 2022?

I’ve been taking some time to focus on personal work and evolving my style. I plan to release a bunch of new work soon. FRANKIIE just finished recording their new album and we are just about to leave to go play SXSW in Austin, Texas.
